Currently the only method to log into Chat twice is to create another website account like Quix1. The software allows 10 connections per IP address. Meaning you can be logged in from 10 different computers at your home/work for more than one person. But, this does not apply to User Names. It allows 1 unique login per User.
This is mainly for security reasons and protection from spam bots. Where you'd have 50 names pop up spewing spam in the chat room. This is from what I've read so far, still looking at options.
However, you can log in with another ID with a different email address and do it that way.
As to the "more" logged in, I actually been working on that.
On the left hand side of the screen under the Recent section. There is a Theme Changer selector. Currently all of you are on Adagio which isn't as intergrated with Chat as I'd like.
If you drop down the list you'll see another called DS-Natural. This has a much better integration with Chat.
First it tells you how many people are currently in the Chat room from the top menu.
Second, when clicking on it, it will open the chat in a new window or tab while keeping you logged into the Website itself and forums. This allows you to switch back and forth under the same login.
I'm still moving things around in this theme, but it's fully functional, tho that can change as it is a work in progress. I welcome you to give it a try and let me know how this works for you.
